The big question: is the Apple Vision Pro worth it for remote work?
How much is the Apple Vision Pro? It starts at $3,499. That’s expensive, yet still more affordable than the Apple Pro Display XDR, which starts at $4,999.
Here’s my follow up video on display settings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrN4w-hNt9Q
So many people focus on entertainment and then get bored. For me productivity is definitely the use case and I can 100% justify the price solely on that basis. If I get a bit of extra use from media consumption then great but if I only ever wear it as a monitor for my MacBook that’s still worth the money to me to get a really good big monitor experience when travelling. (I’m switching from Windows to Mac in April next year and once I’ve confirmed that I’m adapting OK with MacOS I plan to get an Apple Vision Pro in time for a 2 month trip in July/August.)
Apple would never have done this because it’s not at all sexy, and is quite niche, but they could almost have marketed the AVP as “this is a really expensive accessory for your Mac” and as a rather blunt and un-nuanced description, one that would have never got past Apple’s marketing department, that really does describe how I view it.
As a Mac accessory it’s very expensive so, as mentioned, quite niche due to the limited percentage of the user base who would be willing or able to spend that much money on an accessory, but then again there are more expensive accessories for Mac (the XDR display at $5K not including stand) so if you really do need the best virtual monitor experience you can get when travelling with your MacBook the Apple Vision Pro seems to me to be a good proposition.
What a great video justifying spending $3500 on a gimmick. Top content here.
hahahah………love ur free-range worker idea, reminds me of typing of the dead cutscenes where they had keyboard racks hanging from their neck
With the avp on you look like Tom Cruise.
